Over 20 years at national, regional and local levels in local government, with Sport England, running his own business and is setting up a social enterprise, Paul has worked to create values driven organisations driven by high performing teams who deliver consistent and sustained results on the ground. He is now working with a number of clients on coaching and leadership development programmes designed to support emerging talent with applied training and learning opportunities as well as on organisational development programmes and new initiatives with up and coming organisations in sport, leisure and the wider social enterprise sector. Paul’s expertise includes: social enterprise, coaching, mentoring, business review, strategic planning and sports management.


Paul is a former Commercial Director and Business Development Director of MyTime Active and was accountable for the overall profitability of 25 stand alone facilities and the successful operation of a large development team working across sports, arts and play services working across London and the South East. During his time at Mytime - a £20m turnover trust with charitable status - Paul was responsible for increasing operational profit and improving service standards through the coaching and development of a team of General Managers and specialist support staff. He led year on year revenue growth in all key areas of the business and was responsible for spearheading company restructures of fitness, health, swimming, golf and development business models resulting in increased turnover and reduced costs whilst ensuring high standards were maintained. Paul was part of the team that set up and established the new leisure trust in 2004.

Prior to 2004 Paul was the Director of Development at Sport England where he introduced a new national sports development frameworks underpinned by lottery funded initiatives in excess of £50m including the  School Sport Co-ordinator programme, the Active Communities Development Fund, the Active Sports partnerships and the Millennium Youth Games.  He also made a significant contribution to pioneering work in Sports Action Zones, through the Positive Futures programme with the Home Office/Youth Justice Board and work around equality with Sporting Equals and the English Federation of Disability Sport.

Paul is an Intermediate level coach with the Coaching Training Institue and is an accredited practitioner for Facet5 personality profiling. 


Paul is continuing his own professional development by training to be an accredited life/executive coach with the Coaches Training Institute.
