An effective manager of projects and programmes in both private and public sectors and has well developed communication skills with all sectors of society. Highly experienced analyst with extensive, practical knowledge of equality matters and a proven record of delivering innovative, customer focused solutions, leading to effective and sustainable outcomes.  Roger’s specialist skills include:

  • Advice and training on a wide range of Equality matters, including up-to-date legislation
  • Equality and diversity reviews, impact assessments and action planning
  • Supporting organisations in obtaining equality-related accreditations
  • Extensive knowledge of disability sport, from local delivery to Paralympic competition
  • Assisting organisations to engage with communities that they are presently failing to reach
  • Enabling non-sporting organisations to use sport as a vehicle to achieve their own goals
  • Consultation, research, assessments and analysis of findings
  • Monitoring, evaluating and impact assessing all types of programmes and projects 
  • Building productive partnerships and strong teams
  • Project/programme management.


  • Supported over 50 Governing Bodies of Sport in achieving the Equality Standard for Sport
  • Produced over 60 editions of the national equality newsletter for sporting organisations
  • Managed Sport England’s Active Communities Development fund programme, allocating over £15m to underrepresented groups
  • Helped establish the English Federation of Disability Sport and Board member for 4 years
  • First male member of the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation Board
  • Lead the establishment of  Goalball UK, the recognised Governing Body for the sport
  • Helped to develop equity visions for regional sporting bodies in the Midlands with associated delivery action plans
  • Lead the support for over 20 organisations in the West Midlands to deliver their community development programmes
  • Researched issues faced by people with disabilities in obtaining employment 
  • Selected as part of Comic Relief’s Sport Relief grants sub-committee, using knowledge of community issues to assist voluntary groups to resolve conflict
  • Involved with a range of funding bids, including assisting a national disability charity to obtain over £900,000 from the “Big Lottery” fund .
